As one of the 13 colonies Connecticut agriculture played a big role in its growth. With over 6000 farms and over 440,000 acres of land Connecticut has a variety of agriculture products.

The 15 agricultural products of Connecticut that are tops in 2015 are nursery and horticulture, milk, poultry and eggs, vegetables, melons, potatoes, and sweet potatoes, tobacco, fruits nuts and berries, agriculture,  beets, green beans and peas, cattle, horses, Christmas trees, sheep goats and woolen mill, and pork.

Connecticut does have a community supported agriculture program that gives consumers who purchase produce a discount with upfront payment for a full growing season. Connecticut is first and second in the nation in selling directly to markets from the farm.

Talking to the folks over at your local tractor dealer might give you much better options and deals that you might not be aware of. Many time people that don’t have the time to sell their tractors will sell on consignment through a reputable tractor dealer in the area. In addition, these knowledgable tractor experts will probably know if there are tractor auctions, contests, meet-ups, fairs, or Tractor brand demonstrations going on in Connecticut.
